Evolución histórica de la formación regular de maestros primarios del nivel medio en Cuba

Abstract

La formación inicial del maestro primario en Cuba se distingue y particulariza en cada momento histórico concreto. Durante la etapa colonial surgen las Escuelas Normales. A partir de esta fecha se dan altibajos en la apertura, funcionamiento y cierre de dichos centros, los que se hacen extensivos al período de Intervención Militar Norteamericana y a lo largo de la República Neocolonial. A partir de 1959, se encamina la formación de manera coherente, articulada y estable. El proceso ha transitado por las Escuelas de Maestros Primarios (1959- 1961), los planes de escuelas Minas, Topes, Tarará (1961-1974), las escuelas formadoras de maestros primarios (1974- 1998) y Escuelas Pedagógicas (2009- actualidad) como modelos de formación. Revelar las particularidades y principales rasgos de estos modelos de formación constituye una necesidad. En consecuencia el presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir la evolución histórica del proceso de formación regular de maestros primarios en Cuba.
