Abstract

El estudio del pensamiento latinoamericano sobre ciencia y tecnología en el contexto del siglo XX posee especial atención porque permite comprender las perspectivas actuales y futuras de la ciencia, la tecnología y la producción en una región como América Latina. En este aspecto la obra Francisco Sagasti es fundamental, pues constituye una guía de estudio dentro del marco de la ciencia, la tecnología y la sociedad, por todas sus contribuciones y la amplia gama de temas que ha analizado, así como por su visión crítica en asuntos inquietantes para América Latina durante la segunda mitad del siglo pasado y los años transcurridos del siglo XXI. El presente trabajo titulado: Francisco Sagasti y el Pensamiento Latinoamericano sobre Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad en las décadas 70, 80 y 90 del siglo XX, tiene como objetivo general analizar las particularidades del pensamiento latinoamericano sobre ciencia, tecnología y sociedad en la obra de este autor durante el período señalado. Lo novedoso del tema radica en que se contribuye al enfoque social de la ciencia y la tecnología al profundizar en los aspectos teóricos fundamentales de una figura contemporánea.
