Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo mostrar el rol que debe desempeñar la Universidad en el contexto de la Economía Popular y Solidaria para contribuir con el desarrollo local en Ecuador. Se explican los métodos utilizados en la actual investigación que condujeron a los resultados alcanzados, tomando como punto de partida un análisis de lo que está ocurriendo en la actualidad con la Universidad ecuatoriana y del llamado que ha realizado el Presidente Rafael Correa para arribar a conclusiones sobre lo que debe hacerse al respecto para lograr un desarrollo local. Se define el concepto de Economía Popular y Solidaria (EPS según sus siglas)
