Abstract

El presente trabajo permitirá obtener mayor conocimiento acerca de la implementación del dinero electrónico, confirmar si su aplicación, permitirá la inclusión de sectores pobres de la ciudad en las transacciones bancaria, ahora realizada por esta vía, donde transacciones como recargas electrónicas, pagos de servicios y pagos por compras de bienes, son tan comunes en cada uno de los habitantes de la ciudad, adicionalmente permitirá conocer con la base de usuarios de esta nueva herramienta, si estos usuarios pueden o no ser bancarizados, para gozar a través de una entidad pública de créditos futuros de acuerdo a su comportamiento de pago. Con fecha 2 de Junio del 2014, se expidió por parte del Banco Central del Ecuador, el Manual de Procedimiento y Operación del sistema de Dinero Electrónico, en dicho manual se hace referencia al respaldo con el que contará ese nuevo medio de pago, sobre este tema el documento puntualiza que la entrega que efectúe el Banco Central se hará contra canje de dólares, moneda fraccionaria emitida por este ente gubernamental o en depósitos en dólares acreditados a su favor, aclarando con esto la duda de los banqueros privados.
