Factores De Riesgo Y Esperanza De Vida Del Adulto Mayor En La Frontera Norte De Mã‰Xico: Mexicali, Baja California

Abstract

El aumento en la duración promedio de la vida representa uno de los aspectos más sobresalientes del mundo contemporáneo siendo el resultado de una multiplicidad de factores, tales como: los avances medico-farmacológicos, más altos niveles nutricionales, mejores condiciones de higiene y los progresos logrados en el control de enfermedades. Actualmente la esperanza de vida en el Estado de Baja California es una de las más altas a nivel nacional sobrepasando los 76.2 años en promedio (INEGI, 2010), por lo que para 2010 se consideraba al Estado como el tercer lugar en esperanza de vida (CONAPO en COPLADE 2010b). Por lo que el objetivo de este trabajo es conocer la situación de exposición a factores de riesgo y violencia en contra del adulto mayor utilizando el método descriptivo cuantitativo.
