Abstract

El presente ensayo aborda la temática de Inteligencia Emocional (IE) desde su conceptualización hasta el análisis de diversos modelos de IE desarrollados por gurúes del tema. La inteligencia emocional juega un rol importante en el desempeño laboral de las personas en su puesto de trabajo, influye en la calidad del servicio que percibe el cliente, permite mayor dominio de sí mismo como persona y facilita el proceso de entendimiento de las emociones producidas en los demás y en uno mismo. El estudio amplía el abordaje del tema ofreciendo un procedimiento metodológico o secuencia lógica y ordenada de pasos para medir la relación existente entre la Inteligencia Emocional (IE) y el nivel percibido de Calidad del servicio (CS). Además de servir para medir la relación teóricamente explicada, también permite establecer el impacto que una (IE) tiene sobre otra (CS) y develar las causas que provocan esta influencia. Se han propuesto métodos estadístico-matemáticos para dar soporte al procedimiento y se sugiere la validación del mismo en empresas de servicio de diversa índole.
