Abstract

A desterritorialização é um problema actual. O sentimento de pertença que nos une a um território está sujeito a diversos riscos tais como: guerras, crise económica, catástrofes naturais ou neste caso, devido à construção de uma barragem. No caso da barragem de Alqueva (Alentejo, Portugal), para uns esse empreendimento é sinónimo de factor estratégico para o desenvolvimento do Alentejo e para outros é visto como um elefante branco com impactes inaceitáveis. A partir deste último elemento, pretendemos analisar de forma geográfica os efeitos na população da aldeia da Luz, uma vez que esta viu-se “obrigada†a sair do seu território para um outro território (a nova aldeia da Luz) planeado e construído de raiz, em consequência da construção da barragem de Alqueva.
