La incidencia de diabetes mellitus tipo 2 en San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas: análisis de las políticas públicas aplicadas del año 2000 al 2014

Abstract

Controlar la Diabetes Mellitus es un reto mundial, ya que cada día vemos índices más altos en pacientes diabéticos y sus complicaciones. Por ello las instituciones gubernamentales como la secretaria de salud del Estado de Chiapas, desde hace 12 años ha integrado programas de prevención contra dicha enfermedad; por otra parte, el seguro social ha integrado el programa Diabetimss, y el ISSTE el manejo integral por etapas. Tristemente hemos visto que dichos programas no han tenido gran impacto ya que en múltiples ocasiones requieren impulsos económicos para la continuidad o capacitación del personal, además de que las personas profesionales a nivel federal no cuenta con la profesionalidad para el apoyo a dichos programas, eliminándolos sin llegar a logros. (Hernández y Gutiérrez, 2012).
