Abstract

La historia ambiental va definiendo directrices, escalas y metodologías cada vez más precisas, aunque es difícil encontrar con exactitud sus orígenes como disciplina, hoy en día nadie puede negar la utilidad y la pertinencia de su aportación en la reflexión científica frente al deterioro ambiental causante por la actividad antrópica de nuestra civilización. Esta disciplina se ha convertido en un marco de encuentro de otras disciplinas como la ecología, la geografía y la historia. Es aquí, donde se organiza día a día su objetivo principal que es provocar un cambio de la percepción del medio ambiente a través del análisis de las interrelaciones sociedad-naturaleza a través del constructo histórico-social. En el presente artículo revisaremos a la historia ambiental como instrumento para el estudio de las construcciones vernáculas indígenas.
