Planificación y manejo para potenciar el turismo de naturaleza en el Parque Nacional Caguanes de Yaguajay

Abstract

Los espacios naturales protegidos se consideran actualmente escenarios ideales para la práctica del turismo de naturaleza y ejemplos de buena práctica ambiental en Cuba. El Parque Nacional Caguanes se considera un área protegida con excepcionales valores y con importantes áreas para el desarrollo de especies marinas y/o terrestres de alto valor ecológico y turístico. El objetivo de este artículo, es presentar las diversas acciones que deben ejecutarse en el proceso de planificación para acondicionar el área protegida con vistas a potenciar el turismo de naturaleza, todo lo cual permita que se desarrolle la actividad de forma sostenible. Ello estimula la transferencia de buenas prácticas relacionadas con el ecoturismo y promueve el efecto sobre el desarrollo local y el medio ambiente en estos contextos. En el desarrollo del trabajo se utilizaron técnicas y métodos de investigación, entre los que destacan: entrevistas y dinámica de trabajo en grupo a miembros del Consejo Directivo, el análisis de documentos, cuestionarios a trabajadores para determinar el nivel de conocimiento e implicación en el proceso de planeación y métodos estadísticos matemáticos para el procesamiento de la información y la determinación de la muestra.
