La educación ambiental. Entre la modernidad y la posmodernidad

Abstract

Para comprender la relación que existe entre el medio ambiente y la sociedad y para tener una visión más abierta de la importancia de los factores socioculturales y sus efectos en el medio ambiente aparece la educación ambiental, la cuál ha sido considerada como un factor estratégico que incide en el modelo de desarrollo establecido para reorientarlo hacia la sustentabilidad y la equidad; integrando diferentes objetivos como lo son la conciencia, conocimientos, actitudes, capacidad de evaluación y participación. Sin embargo existen barreras, desde la implementación de este tipo de educación que generan dudas tales como su praxis y la importancia y el lugar que tiene tanto en la educación moderna y posmoderna, así como llegar a un concepto general o unificado de lo que significa en realidad la Educación Ambiental.
