Abstract

La presente investigación titulada Prácticas socioculturales en la comunidad marinera Castillo de Jagua, un estudio a partir del género en la actividad pesquera, es un estudio sobre la influencia de la categoría sociológica género en la asunción de prácticas socioculturales para la comunidad marinera Castillo de Jagua. Se trata de una investigación descriptiva, cuya metodología cualitativa emplea el método etnográfico y descansa en una investigación cualitativa que toma una muestra intencional, no probabilística y de fácil acceso entre los pobladores con notable arraigo en las actividades que se relacionan con la pesca y el mar. Los resultados se dirigen a una caracterización de la comunidad desde el punto de vista socio demográfico y cultural, así como a la determinación de los roles de género frente a la pesca y las actividades que se relacionan con ella, que en definitiva permiten comprender un conjunto de prácticas socioculturales desempeñadas por hombres y mujeres en el contexto sociocultural de su comunidad.
