Migraciones y retornos. Una mirada desde la sociología

Abstract

La (e/i) migración es uno de los fenómenos más estudiados en las Ciencias Sociales y Humanas, organismos internacionales, instituciones públicas y privadas entre otros. Tradicionalmente la migración siempre fue definida como la dislocación de personas con intención de fijar residencia o no, siendo esta temporaria, permanente o semipermanente. Los estudios que dan cuenta de este fenómeno también muestran su característica bipolar: si las migraciones pueden constituirse en instrumentos de desarrollo tanto para los emisores como receptores también, pueden constituir un obstáculo para estos y, ambos tienen la conciencia de las contribuciones y de sus obstáculos. Este hecho real permite que los emigrantes estén en el centro de los debates a nivel mundial.
