El caribe insular. Aproximación a los sistemas de gobierno y de partido

Abstract

En el área geográfica del Caribe insular comenzaron las luchas anticolonialistas en Latinoamérica. Pero todavía permanecen varias naciones en condición de enclaves coloniales, en algunos casos, por decisión soberana de sus propios pueblos. Resulta paradójico que esto suceda, en tiempos en que la independencia es una justa y soberana aspiración de los pueblos de cara al futuro. Las naciones caribeñas, cercanas físicamente en el orden geográfico, por su composición demográfica diversa y su singularidad en las expresiones culturales, se han mantenido distantes históricamente por sus vínculos geopolíticos con sus metrópolis europeas.
