Impacto de la estrategia de sustitución de importaciones en el actual contexto de crisis financiera internacional

Abstract

Ante la actual situación de la economía internacional y la crisis financiera que atraviesa el mundo contemporáneo, subyacen diferentes factores que azotan principalmente a los países del tercer mundo. América Latina se ve forzada a aplicar medidas concretas que le permitan insertarse cada vez más en el curso de la maquinaria económica que impera hoy a nivel internacional, donde las relaciones son cada vez más heterogéneas. Dado principalmente por la existencia de instituciones internacionales que limitan el natural desarrollo de las relaciones entre países. El análisis del comercio exterior implica para todos los países un elemento de vital importancia puesto que este puede dinamizar o frenar el desarrollo de los mismos. En la presente investigación se realiza un análisis de la estrategia de sustitución de importaciones que parte desde su origen a nivel internacional hasta su implementación actual. Se hace énfasis en el caso de América Latina y las implicaciones que ha tenido el uso de esta estrategia. Además son revisados los diferentes modelos de desarrollo que han apoyado o rechazado como alternativa de desarrollo la industrialización por la vía de la sustitución de importaciones.
