Emigración anglófona en Jobabo de 1900-1930: desarrollo azucarero y presencia sociocultural

Abstract

Este trabajo recoge un estudio del impacto de la emigración anglófona de Jamaica y Barbados en nuestra identidad, a partir del análisis histórico cultural de la emigración en los inicios del siglo XX, con un modelo teórico que lleva el estudio etno histórico desde los elementos formadores de la identidad del Caribe y su pluridaridad cultural, y las condiciones que favorecen las emigraciones hacia Cuba. Las huellas de esta emigración en el desarrollo azucarero de la localidad y las características culturales de esta emigración así como su sociedad cultural The Britis West Indies, como instrumento para la protección de sus elementos identitarios, idioma, costumbres y vida familiar.
