La industria láctea como generador de riqueza en regiones en vías de desarrollo. Un estudio de caso en El Caribe

Abstract

La industria láctea es un sector que genera importantes recursos económicos en numerosas partes del mundo. Es el caso por ejemplo de República Dominicana, donde esta industria del sector primario, se configura como una actividad económica con importancia en el país. Además, estamos ante una actividad que ayuda a mejorar el desarrollo económico de las regiones. En este sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la situación actual de la industria láctea en la provincia de Dajabón, al noroeste de República Dominicana. La metodología ha consistido en una revisión de la literatura (fuente secundaria) y en la entrevista (fuente primaria). Los resultados obtenidos muestran que este sector es muy importante para Dajabón, aunque se puede mejorar. En este sentido, se establecen unas recomendaciones para mejorar este sector en la provincia.
