Abstract

Gracias a los avances tecnológicos que han surgido en los últimos años, la atención y el cuidado de la salud no solamente recaen en la medicina sino que también otras disciplinas como las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones. Con esta integración de tecnología, administración e información se ha logrado crear esa interdisciplinariedad que ha dado origen a muchas otras ramas en beneficio de la atención a la salud, una de ellas es la Informática de la Salud (IS) que 'es la ciencia de la administración de información en el cuidado de la salud y su aplicación a la práctica clínica.
