Abstract

Desde hace miles de años, los animales se han venido domesticando para ser utilizados en múltiples funciones, entre ellos la tracción animal. El presente documento pretende diagnosticar el uso y manejo de los animales de trabajo en las zonas rurales de Nicaragua, con el fin de dar pautas para una mejor utilización de los mismos. En este sentido serán abordados algunos aspectos relevantes, como las ccaracterísticas socioeconómicas de la familia usuarias, el uso y manejo de los animales, infraestructura, materiales utilizados y la legislación en función de la protección contra el abuso y explotación de los mismos.
