Ingresos asociados al turismo en Cuba en la primera década del siglo XXI

Abstract

Se analizan las llegadas turísticas y motivaciones de viaje, los ingresos asociados al turismo internacional captados por Cuba en la década 2001-2010, así como los ingresos turísticos en USD por llegadas, comparándose con desempeños de la década anterior y con principales competidores, el Caribe insular, las Américas y el Mundo. Los ritmos de crecimiento medio anual de los ingresos turísticos de Cuba en la década 2001-2010 son más bajos que los obtenidos en la década anterior y el desempeño es menos favorable que los obtenidos por otros destinos con que se compara. Entre 2001 y 2010 Cuba crece más en llegadas que en ingresos turísticos, mientras que resulta al revés con los destinos comparados. Los ingresos turísticos por llegada para Cuba tienen una tendencia a decrecer y entre 2009 y 2010 se encuentran en los niveles más bajos.
