Probabilidade de insegurança alimentar por fatores socioeconômicos no Semiárido brasileiro

Abstract

Características típicas da pobreza influenciam significativamente no estado de segurança alimentar. Este artigo busca analisar a probabilidade de insegurança alimentar em decorrência de fatores socioeconômicos das famílias de baixa renda do Semiárido brasileiro. A análise utilizou os dados da pesquisa sobre segurança alimentar no Semiárido do Ministério do Desenvolvimento Social, os quais foram trabalhados usando um modelo de regressão logística binária para identificar a situação de insegurança alimentar grave (IAG). Os resultados revelaram que a probabilidade aumenta em função da renda per capita familiar inferior, da pouca escolaridade, do desemprego, da cor negra ou parda e do gênero feminino da pessoa de referência, além da não participação políticas públicas de transferência de renda.
