El índice de desigualdad urbana en las zonas metropolitanas: una propuesta metodológica

Abstract

El aumento de la población en las grandes metrópolis y la creciente desigualdad urbana, entendida ésta, como inequidad y acceso a oportunidades. Permite reconocer las diferencias en la satisfacción de necesidades básicas que tiene la población para el disfrute de la ciudad. El objetivo fue elaborar un índice, entendido como tal a un indicador compuesto para analizar la desigualdad urbana metropolitana. Abordamos desde la conceptualización del índice y hasta los resultados obtenidos. Para la metodología, de manera ilustrativa, propusimos cuatro pasos de integración. Calculamos diez indicadores en cuatro dimensiones. Además encontramos que una de las principales limitantes fue la falta de información de datos censales.
