Expansión urbana, agua potable y saneamiento en la zona metropolitana Puebla Tlaxcala (ZMPT)

Abstract

El presente se ofrece como parte de una investigación más amplia, actualmente en curso y su propósito es dar testimonio a grandes rasgos de la situación, problemática y gestión de los servicios de agua potable, alcantarillado y saneamiento (SAPAS) en la Zona Metropolitana Puebla Tlaxcala (ZMPT), cuarta en importancia dentro del Sistema Urbano Nacional (SUN) de México. Se presentan y analizan algunos resultados y avances que se han alcanzado a la fecha, teniendo como eje y objeto de estudio la gestión de aquellos servicios en el desarrollo económico y social de la zona. Para ello se ha considerado un conjunto de 20 ciudades con población mayor a 15 mil habitantes ubicadas en 13 municipios urbanos, de las cuales se seleccionó una muestra de 8 ciudades en donde los servicios son operados por los denominados Organismos Operadores (OO´s) y/o Comisiones de Agua Potable Municipales (CAPAM).
