Inteligencia de mercados para la cadena de uchuva colombiana (Physalis peruviana L)

Abstract

Este documento realiza un análisis de los datos de producción colombiana de uchuva (Physalis peruviana L) y del comportamiento frente a los mercados internacionales, los cuales muestran una tendencia al alza durante el periodo 2007-2014; motivada por el interés de los mercados europeos por el carácter exótico de la fruta, sabor y propiedades nutricionales (Asohofrucol, 2014; Legiscomex, 2013; Osec, 2010). Los principales destinos de estas exportaciones se orientan hacia Alemania, Bélgica y Holanda donde la fruta alcanza un precio mayorista entre 4,80 a 6,39 US/Kg (Bacex, 2014); lo cual evidencia el potencial para la obtención de valor agregado frente a los 0,84 USD/Kg pagados en Colombia (La mayorista, 2014), siendo un negocio rentable en el que solo seis compañías dominan el 75% de las exportaciones realizadas durante 2014 (Bacex, 2014).
