O desenvolvimento econômico na economia institucional original: uma revisitação à James Street

Abstract

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de apresentar e debater o processo de desenvolvimento econômico na perspectiva da Economia Institucional Original (EIO). Para tal, em um primeiro momento apresenta-se a esta escola do pensamento econômico, salientando suas singularidades e constructos teóricos. Em um segundo momento, atenção específica é dada as suas considerações acerca do processo de desenvolvimento econômico. Por último, é revisitado o importante texto de James Street, The Institutionalist Theory of Economic Development, no qual o autor, além de destacar as características do desenvolvimento econômico na perspectiva institucionalista, também apresenta convergências importantes entre esta abordagem e as considerações do Estruturalismo e da Teoria da Dependência a respeito do caso latino-americano.
