A independência dos bancos centrais: uma análise do caso brasileiro

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em mostrar a relevância da independência do Banco Central e se esta é a melhor solução para a economia. Inicialmente, foi feita uma breve contextualização acerca do papel do Banco Central ao longo do Século XX. Na sequência, foi realizada uma revisão de literatura teórica a respeito da política monetária. Em seguida, foi apresentado argumentos teóricos para a independência dos bancos centrais. Por conseguinte, foi sistematizado um debate acerca do Banco Central independente no Brasil na atualidade. Os resultados obtidos indicam como tal estrutura autônoma é vantajosa para que o Brasil mantenha a estabilidade de preços, alcançando o sucesso no combate à inflação.
