Potencialidades del depósito laterítico Cajálbana para la producción de ferroníquel

Abstract

Cuba poseen grandes potencialidades para lograr la producción de ferroaleaciones, principalmente Ferroníquel, como resultado de los importantes recursos minerales que posee y las experiencias investigativas y productivas desarrolladas durante más de 15 años, que avalan esta afirmación. En el presente trabajo se exponen las experiencias acumuladas durante la caracterización, tratamiento y procesamiento de los principales minerales existentes en la región de Cajálbana en Pinar del Río, para la producción de ferroníquel, a partir de resultados experimentales realizados, tanto a escala de banco como piloto. Se exponen además las características generales del procesamiento pirometalúrgico de diferentes mezclas metalúrgicas.
