Perfil do consumo de carne bovina na Região Metropolitana de Belém no ano de 2017

Abstract

O Brasil é considerado um dos mais importantes produtores de carne bovina do mundo, sendo também o maior rebanho (209 milhões de cabeças) e o segundo maior exportador mundial (1,9 milhões de toneladas). Seu mercado consumidor figurou como o segundo maior em 2015, com a marca de 38,6 kg/habitante/ano. Este artigo teve como objetivo analisar o perfil de consumo de carne bovina na região metropolitana de Belém e sua relação com bens de consumo carne de frango, carne de peixe, arroz e feijão, como variáveis independentes. Os dados analisados foram colhidos por meio de 176 questionários aplicados ao longo do ano de 2017. Pode-se inferir dos resultados que a carne bovina foi caracterizada como bem de consumo normal e sua demanda aumenta com o aumento da renda. Pode-se inferir também que, em relação ao consumo de carne bovina, a carne de frango se comporta como bem de consumo complementar, a carne de peixe como bem de consumo substituto, o arroz como bem substituto e o feijão como bem complementar.
