Abstract

La sostenibilidad del turismo se convirtió en una prioridad de las instituciones internacionales desde la mitad de los años 90. El calificativo “sostenible†se asoció oficialmente al turismo durante una conferencia organizada en 1995 en Lanzarote (Islas Canarias) por la Organización Mundial del Turismo que dio lugar a la publicación de la “carta del turismo sostenible†.
