El valor presente y su relación en los estados financieros

Abstract

La aparición de las Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera trae consigo la manifestación de un nuevo concepto que aplica a las propiedades, planta y equipo y a los activos intangibles como es el deterioro de valor de dichos activos. El IASB, organismo rector de las normativas contables, creó una norma específica sobre dicho tema, NIC 36, en la que se establecen las bases y fundamentos para que una compañía pueda reconocer una pérdida o disminución de valor en sus activos. La norma en cuestión implanta la necesidad de que una entidad evalúe periódicamente la posible existencia de indicios de deterioro que les conducirá a calcular el importe recuperable del activo, es aquí donde hace su aparición la técnica del valor presente y el objetivo principal de la investigación, demostrar cómo este método ayudará a cumplir con las NIIF y consecuentemente con la presentación razonable de los estados financieros.
