Certificações de biocombustíveis: desafios da governança global

Abstract

A procura dos consumidores de produtos ecológicos e socialmente responsáveis e a diminuição de assimetrias de mercado são a força motriz por trás da expansão dos sistemas de certificação. Paradoxalmente, esta situação conduz a um mercado cada vez mais desorganizado na definição de regras e critérios para produtores, varejistas e compradores. A situação suscitou um debate sobre o futuro dos sistemas de certificação e a necessidade de sistemas de governança eficientes. Este artigo explora algumas das ideias provenientes do atual debate sobre as certificações dos e descreve como essas ideias podem ser aplicados como sistemas de governança mais precisos.
