Interdependencia Y Contagio Financiero Entre Paã Ses, El Caso De Mã‰Xico A Estados Unidos En 1994

Abstract

El contagio financiero es un fenómeno internacional que ha cobrado gran importancia en las últimas dos décadas gracias a las crisis vividas y al impacto que éstas han tenido sobre el sector económico y financiero de los diferentes países. La presente investigación intenta comprobar la existencia de contagio entre los mercados bursátiles de México y Estados Unidos en la crisis de 1994 sufrida por México, para lo cual se analiza el comportamiento de los principales índices bursátiles de cada país, así como las correlaciones entre ambas naciones en períodos de estabilidad y crisis. Para ello se utilizarán los métodos econométricos MCO y GARCH, observándose en los resultados obtenidos que las dos economías están íntimamente relacionadas y son interdependientes entre sí, además de que efectivamente existe evidencia de contagio financiero entre ambos países en el período de crisis analizado.
