Abstract

Las microfinanzas tienen un rol destacado en la atención de los sectores más desprotegidos de la sociedad en todo el mundo, pero principalmente en los países emergentes. El economista Nurske señaló que existe un círculo vicioso de la pobreza del cual es imposible escapar a menos que se les ofrezca pequeñas sumas de dinero para ser aplicadas a capital de trabajo o a la compra de pequeñas máquinas, y de esta forma, transformarlo en un círculo virtuoso. Las instituciones microfinancieras ocupan un rol destacado en la teoría de Nurske, aumentando las posibilidades de estos sectores para incorporarlos a la sociedad.
