Políticas públicas para o desenvolvimento do turismo no Brasil e na Bahia

Abstract

O turismo é uma importante atividade econômica, configurando-se como promotor de desenvolvimento socioeconômico regional, devido às externalidades positivas proporcionadas pela atividade. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as políticas públicas direcionadas as atividades turísticas no Brasil e na Bahia. O Prodetur nacional é o programa de maior importância para o turismo em nível nacional. Entretanto, apesar da sua relevância, constou-se que a maioria das metas planejadas não foi alcançada, principalmente na Região Nordeste, onde se encontra a Bahia, devido a problemas macroestruturais e sociais que limitaram o desenvolvimento efetivo do programa.
