Lo que no se ve de Brasil 2014: el otro mundial FIFA

Abstract

La ideología funciona más que por lo que abiertamente dice, por aquello que calla (Zizek, 2009). En este sentido, la copa del Mundo Brasil 2014 como evento mediático ejerce una gran fascinación sobre la audiencia por su mensaje subyacente. El presente ensayo discute no solo los efectos morales de un espectáculo de este tipo, en un país anfitrión con grandes asimetrías, sino que critica la lógica de exclusión que rige el juego mismo. En contraposición con los Juegos Olímpicos que muestran a varios ganadores en diversas disciplinas, la copa del Mundo sólo ofrece un ganador. Esta cosmogonía propia del capitalismo moderno precariza no solo las formas existentes de trabajo, sino que fomenta el darwinismo social.
