Comportamiento productivo de cultivares de frijol negro (phaseolus vulgaris, l.) En la Cooperativa de Créditos y Servicios “José Manuel Rodríguez" del Municipio Jesús Menéndez

Abstract

El cultivo del frijol posee una extraordinaria importancia para la alimentación humana, pues además de constituir una fuente esencial de proteína, forma parte de los hábitos alimentarios de la población. En Cuba, las condiciones edafoclimáticas son favorables para su cultivo, por lo que se produce en todo el territorio nacional. La zona de Velasco en la provincia Holguín, considerada por muchos años “Granero del País”, ha obtenido magníficos resultados productivos por presentar, entre otros factores, condiciones de clima y suelo propicias para el crecimiento y desarrollo de esta planta. En el municipio “Jesús Menéndez” de la provincia Las Tunas, aledaño al municipio Velasco, a pesar de que los rendimientos históricos superan la media nacional, la insuficiente diversidad de cultivares, limita el rendimiento y la disponibilidad de este grano
