Según el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), para muchos de los países latinoamericanos, las remesas son una importante herramienta de reducción de la pobreza, ya que más del 60% se utiliza para cubrir necesidades diarias tales como alimentos, vestimenta y alojamiento1.
