Abstract

La idea de vejez trae a nuestra mente muchas ideas e imágenes diferentes y controvertidas, que se relacionan principalmente con nuestra situación personal y la sociedad en que vivimos. Si bien somos concientes de las transformaciones físicas, familiares, laborales y en definitiva, en todo nuestro ámbito socioeconómico, muchas veces tememos a esta etapa por las connotaciones sociales que suele aparejar. Sin embargo, el concepto de vejez , a nivel sociológico está estrechamente vinculado a la época y el lugar en el cual vivimos, al momento histórico en que nos encontramos.
