El enfoque del PNUD y la visión alter-mundialista: nuevas perspectivas para un debate sobre el desarrollo en América Latina

Abstract

En este trabajo me propongo confrontar dos visiones distintas referentes a temas determinantes del bienestar social mundial y latinoamericano en particular. Por un lado examinaré los planteamientos del Programa de Desarrollo de las Naciones Unidas (en adelante PNUD), en lo concerniente a temas fundamentales con los que define el estado del desarrollo de diferentes países y, por otro, las propuestas sobre materias de calidad de vida efectuadas por un conjunto de agrupaciones muy variadas, que se han constituido más recientemente como un frente alternativo al llamado enfoque neoliberal.
