El tronco común, del que provenimos, lo constituyen los primates de donde derivan los homíninos que vivieron al Este de África, algunas especies, y otras que se expandieron por Europa y el Asia, extinguiéndose todas, excepto el Homo sapiens (hombre moderno) que sobrevivió, se expandió y colonizó África, Europa, Asia, Australia y América.
