Abstract

Se determinó el nivel de alfabetización ambiental (NAA) y la cultura ambiental de los estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria Técnica no. 26 de Bácum, Río Yaqui, Sonora, México. Se utilizó una encuesta diseñada en el Centro de Educación Ambiental en Wisconsin (WCEE), E.U., participaron 234 estudiantes, En actitud ambiental el NAA de los estudiantes es inaceptable “D†, en conducta ambiental y en conocimientos es bajo “E†y el NAA en forma general es bajo “E†. El NAA por género es bajo †E†en los hombres y las mujeres, por componente ambiental, el NAA en actitud ambiental es “D†inaceptable y bajo “E†en conducta y conocimientos, en mujeres y en los hombres. Por grado de estudio, los estudiantes de los tres grados obtuvieron un NAA bajo “E†, en forma general y por componente ambiental. Se concluye que 225 estudiantes (96.15%) cuentan con una cultura anti-ambientalista y en 9 estudiantes (3.85%) su cultura ambiental es pro-ambientalista.
