Educación ambiental y desarrollo local: retos y oportunidades desde la participación ciudadana

Abstract

Educación ambiental y desarrollo local constituyen dos términos de importancia y actualidad en lo marcos del desarrollo sostenible, que de manera independiente marcan la impronta de los debates académicos y científicos, constituyendo la participación ciudadana elemento clave para su desarrollo. De de este modo, incursionar en el estudio del desarrollo local en su nexo ineludible con la educación ambiental, constituye una necesidad para integrar de manera coherente las dimensiones ecológica, económica, cultural y política social, desde la participación activa y transformadora de las ciudadanas y ciudadanos en el entorno local. Desde estos referentes, el presente artículo tiene la intención de ahondar en la relación entre educación ambiental y desarrollo local, destacando los nexos que posibilitan una actuación socialmente responsable en el entorno natural, con una mirada al desarrollo local sostenible.
