Sustentabilidade energética-econômica da sojicultura em Sorriso (Brasil)

Abstract

O estado de Mato Grosso é o maior produtor de soja no Brasil. O município de Sorriso, no norte mato-grossense, concentra cerca de 9% da soja produzida no estado. Com dados da safra de 2012/2013, este trabalho avaliou sob o ponto de vista da economia ecológica a eficiência econômica e termodinâmica da sojicultora em Sorriso. A margem econômica bruta apresentou-se positiva em 1,57 frente aos custos, demonstrando capacidade de acumulação de capital. Quanto ao fluxo energético, a sojicultura apresentou uma eficiência termodinâmica de 4,13 na relação entradas e saídas de energia. Os insumos mais importantes no input foram de origem industrial como os adubos e defensivos (herbicida, inseticida e fungicida), com participação importante dos combustíveis fósseis. Os insumos de base industrial atingiram 91,92% dos inputs energéticos, enquanto os insumos biológicos (sementes e mão-de-obra) alcançaram 8,08% das entradas energéticas. Com base nesse panorama apresentado pelo trabalho, é possível concluir que o sistema produtivo de soja em Sorriso apresenta importante excedente energético, mas precisa de planejamento que reduza a dependência de energia exógena e de fontes industrializadas.
