Aspecto do saneamento básico do Baixo Amazonas

Abstract

Nesse artigo objetivamos expor através dos dados do Sistema Nacional de Informações sobre Saneamento, a atual situação do saneamento básico na mesorregião do Baixo Amazonas. Com base nos dados levantados, foram elaboradas tabelas de resumo com as informações adquiridas dos trezes municípios da região oeste do Pará e bem como mapas temáticos para melhor visualizar as informações obtidas. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram que o saneamento básico na região ainda é ineficiente, no serviço de abastecimento de água a maioria das cidades apresentou dados positivos, onde grande parte da população é atendida com água potável. Em relação à coleta dos resíduos sólidos faz-se necessário que as cidades adequem à legislação. Já no setor de esgotamento sanitário não apresenta dados satisfatórios nos municípios.
