Alfabetización ambiental de los alumnos de la carrera de agronomía de la facultad de ingeniería y ciencias agropecuarias (FICA) de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis, Villa Mercedes, Argentina

Abstract

Ante la crisis ambiental, contar con ciudadanos adecuadamente alfabetizados en cuestiones ambientales es muy importante. El objetivo de la presente investigación consiste en determinar el nivel de alfabetización ambiental de los alumnos de la carrera de agronomía de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias Agropecuarias (FICA) de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis, Villa Mercedes, Argentina; y determinar si existían diferencias entre género y año que cursa de la carrera. El método utilizado consistió en la aplicación de un cuestionario diseñado por el Centro de Educación Ambiental en Wisconsin, E.U.A y que ha sido utilizado en otras partes del mundo con estudiantes universitarios. Se pudo constatar que los alumnos presentaron un nivel de alfabetización ambiental aceptable, para la escala utilizada, sin embargo mostraron bajos valores de conducta. Las mujeres demostraron tener mejores intenciones, realizar mayor cantidad de conductas a favor del ambiente y manejan mejor las nociones básicas de ambiente y ecología que sus compañeros hombres. También se observó un efecto año de cursada, los alumnos de los últimos años mostraron mejor nivel de conocimiento ambiental.
