Revisión de buenas prácticas en el sistema de recolección de residuos: un análisis para la implementación local

Abstract

El presente trabajo consiste en la revisión de las diversas metodologías disponibles para mejorar la gestión de los sistemas de recolección de residuos sólidos municipales en países en vías de desarrollo, en concordancia con los lineamientos del Programa de las Naciones Unidas UN-HABITAT. Dada la simplicidad en la implementación de muchas de las buenas prácticas resulta factible su aplicación en países en vías de desarrollo. En este sentido, se analiza una posible implementación en la ciudad de Ibarra-Ecuador, para ello, se requiere del compromiso tanto de las instituciones encargadas de la gestión de los residuos municipales, instituciones gubernamentales, como de la comunidad que genera los estos residuos.
