Biosistema natural para el tratamiento de las aguas residuales domésticas en el municipio de Santiago de Los Caballeros, República Dominicana

Abstract

Este proyecto para la implementación de un biosistema natural para el tratamiento de las aguas residuales de origen doméstico en el municipio de Santiago de los Caballeros, es el resultado de la investigación, diseño, construcción y monitoreo de un Biofiltro – Humedal, con el objetivo de establecer los medios óptimos para reducir las concentraciones de los contaminantes presentes en las aguas residuales, generadas por pequeñas comunidades. El modelo propuesto es un sistema de ingeniería, diseñado y construido para utilizar las funciones naturales de los humedales, donde los procesos físicos, químicos y biológicos se llevan a cabo por los vegetales y microorganismos; y de un biofiltro con soporte orgánico que se basa en la capacidad que tiene cierta biomasa de actuar como resina biológica natural, capaz de fijar diferentes sustancias contaminantes.
