Impactos ambientales en la explotación minera aurífera y al ser humano. Caso de estudio

Abstract

El proceso de extracción de materiales aurígeros da como resultado emisiones contaminantes al aire, suelo y agua, producidos por residuos que originan afectaciones en la salud del ser humano, las personas que viven alrededor de estas empresas, causando hasta la muerte. La empresa Exportadora Aurífera S.A. EXPAUSA, ubicada en el Distrito Minero Vella Rica, cantón Ponce Enríquez, Provincia del Azuay – Ecuador, es el objeto de este estudio. Se encontró como resultado estas afectaciones al ambiente, al ser humano, sin brindar ningún tipo de indemnización por los daños generados. El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar los diferentes métodos que se aplican en la empresa minera Exportadora Aurífera S.A., para mitigar la contaminación; analizar los puntos de impacto ambiental que genera la empresa en el área de explotación de minerales y proponer capacitación a los empleados sobre la identificación de los riesgos y su impacto en la salud, acorde a la tarea realizada y a las características geológicas de la explotación. La metodología aplicada para este análisis fue mixta, combinando la cualitativa y la cuantitativa. Desarrollado el análisis se identificaron los riesgos y su impacto en la salud del trabajador, e identificados estos se propone un programa de capacitación a los empleados para mitigar los efectos generados.
