Filosofã A Del Turismo Y Pobreza: Un Resumen

Abstract

El turismo es una actividad que conecta ciudades, culturas y personas en un mundo cada vez más global. Sus defensores argumentan que, planificado de forma coherente y sustentable, permite que ciertos grupos relegados y marginados puedan acceder a una distribución equitativa de la riqueza. En ciertas condiciones, las comunidades locales pueden adoptar al turismo como industria principal con el fin de reducir la pobreza existente y acceder a un mejor estilo de vida. Aun cuando, una gran cantidad de estudios críticos han atacado al turismo por considerarlo un mecanismo hegemónico de control sobre el tercer mundo, poca atención se ha dado a la raíz conceptual de la pobreza, y la forma en la cual el discurso de lucha contra las asimetrías creadas por el sistema capitalista legitima las propias bases de explotación.
