Discusión Teórica De La Relación Sostenibilidad - Minería

Abstract

La sostenibilidad tiene como indicadores de medición conjunto, tres pilares: ambiental, económico y social; siendo imperativo entender esta concepción para evitar interpretaciones erradas. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar y discutir las distintas posiciones y argumentos científicos que expliquen la relación sostenibilidad - minería, determinando desde un punto de vista teórico el impacto de la minería al desarrollo sostenible. Los resultados muestran dos paradigmas errados: 1) la sostenibilidad desde la cantidad de recursos mineros, y 2) desde los impactos parciales de la minería; concluyéndose de forma teórica, que la minería no tiene impacto significativo en el desarrollo sostenible, porque sus impactos ambientales y sociales son negativos, y su impacto económico positivo no es claro.
